Dick Whittington- New Victoria Theatre Woking 2012

It's that time of year again!! Panto time and here we go with a superblog from Gemma and Lou Lou!!

Keep Your wigs on!!

A Team Mullers Christmas Party!! Lovely to see you all!!
This year Stephen Mulhern is starring as Idle Jack in Dick Whittington at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. He makes a fantastic Idle Jack with lots of magic, comedy moments, ball juggling and audience interaction. The perfect ingredient for any panto. Ashleigh Butler plays Alice Fitzwarren who surprises us all with her singing as we didn't get to hear her sing in Britains got Talent, Pudsey brings the fun of dancing dog to the show, an extra bit to panto fun. The title role of Dick Whittington is played by West End star Michael Pickering, a bit smaller than expected, but plays the perfect role alongside his adorable pet cat Tommy, played by Kayleigh Wilson, who rids the town of Rats. Writer and Director Eric Potts who has once again written a fantastic panto production stars as our panto dame, Sarah the Cook, adding extra laughs for everyones enjoyment and teams up well with Stephen in a spectacular cooking scene which will have you falling off your seats. Captain Titchworth brings a good bit to the panto with his fun scenes and his mop act with Jack and the gang he also shows us his moves on the dance floor. And what panto is complete without the theme of Good Vs Evil and rhyming couplets which comes in the form of Fairy Bowbells (Kimberley Ensor) and King Rat (Dave Lynn). Also keep an eye out for the lovable Terry the turtle, such a cutie and he is the star of a 3D film which you will all enjoy and hear the kids squealing with delight as they try to grab the 3D images, and Terry has the best table manners of any turtle we've ever seen!!

An amazing choice of songs are included in the show. Chart toppers and toe tapping panto classics which by the end had everyone up on their feet and singing along. In act 2 Stephen splits the audience into two teams to see which side can win the battle of the bands in singing some best loved panto songs the loudest. Its guaranteed you'll come away with these songs stuck in your head, and there isn't a bad singer amongst the cast. The costumes were beautiful and sparkly, stunning in every way as any panto should be.

The New Victoria theatre is lovely, and very modern, located by the peacocks shopping centre in Woking. Not a bad seat in the house, with the Stalls on ground floor, a circle above the stalls and an upper circle too. This panto is a must see for any panto, Mullers or Ashleigh and Pudsey fan.

Dick Whittington will be running up until January 6th 2013 and you can purchase your tickets HERE!!

All at Team Mullers would like to Congratulate Stephen and all of the cast on such an Epic panto, and hope the rest of the run continues to be as amazing and as successful as it is!!

Stephen's last day of panto!!

Stephen has now completed his run of Panto, playing Buttons at the Marlowe theatre in Canterbury!! The panto continues until the 22nd January, the part of Buttons will now be played by Paul Hendy, Director of this years panto!

This is so that Stephen can take part as the host of Britain's Got more Talent which will be in it's 6th series! Auditions start in Manchester on the 20th January, travelling up and down the country until Middle of Febuary in search of new talent.

What would have already been an emotional last day of panto for him was made more emotional after the death of Kent's Panto legend Dave Lee!! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and loved ones of Dave. I didn't really know much about him until this years panto but heard so many lovely things about him and its very saddening to hear of the loss of a kind hearted man who did so much for the Kent community!!

Long live Dave's famous Ghost Bench scene at the Marlowe!! R.I.P.

Cinderella Panto review 2011

After going to see the Cinderella panto at the Marlowe theatre in Canterbury, I can assure you that those still yet to see it are in for a real treat, and would seriously recommend it to anyone who can get there!!

The Cinderella story is put across beautifully by a very talented cast, including John Partridge (Christian from Eastenders) as Prince Charming who will amaze you with his singing, the very funny Ben Roddy as Dandini, Kate Quinnell makes a beautiful Cinderella, Sue Devaney with her rhyming couplets and her 'Prince Charming moments'. Michael J Batchelor and Ian Smith play the ugly sisters, Eugenie and Beatrice and of course Stephen Mulhern who makes the cutest Buttons ever!! ... And i think Fred Bear also deserves a special mention as he plays a very important role...

The highlights

- The dancers in the opening sequence, they're so talented.

- The Market stall scene between Buttons and Dandini will have you doubled up laughing.

- When Prince Charming first sings. Just Amazing!!

- Buttons in a onesie <3

- Cinderella's Horse and Carriage...

- The famous Ghost bench, with the famous 'It's behind you' shoutouts from the crowd and 'Oh well, we'll have to do it again then' and just all audience participation.

- When the ugly sisters try on Cinderella's Glass slipper, too funny!

- Stephens magic tricks and shoutouts!!

- The final song when everyone gets up to dance!!

Theres also lots of references to Eastenders and Britain's got talent in it too that will keep the older audience amused!! So all in all, the perfect panto for all of the family!!

Panto runs until the 22nd January 2012 and Tickets can be purchased HERE

Enjoy!! I Know you'll love it if you do go!!

It's that time of year again... Panto season!!
Stephen is no stranger to panto! In the past he's done Mother Goose in Croydon and appeared in Aladdin and Snow white, both in Canterbury!! Last year he played Aladdin, again, in Nottingham which had a 3D genie!! It was pretty amayzing!! Lots of laughs and Stephen sings!!

And this year, he is set to return to Canterbury playing the role of Buttons at the Marlowe Theatre's production of Cinderella!!

The panto will be running from the 2nd of December until the 22nd January and you can purchase your tickets HERE

It will be a good day or evening out for all of the family, and Team mullers shall be there, so we may see some of you there too??!

And a bit of useless info for you, when booking your tickets, Row C will be the front row, not row A in which I thought it would be!!

Hope to see you there
